November is stacking up as one of the strongest art months of the year in Laguna Beach, with three museum exhibitions running at once, a public art installation along the bluffs and the monthly gallery walk, all within walking distance of downtown.

The headline show at Laguna Art Museum is de la Torre Brothers: The Tipping Point, on view August 1, 2026 through January 24, 2027. Brothers Einar and Jamex de la Torre transformed the museum's California gallery into a lavish, densely layered dinner scene: glass works interwoven with selected objects, chandeliers, suspended forms and floor-level pieces centered on a monumental banquet-length table. The installation reflects on society's fascination with wealth, abundance and consumption, and the ways visitors participate in systems of excess. Installing it was the most labor-intensive exhibition build in the museum's history: seven staff members worked two and a half weeks alongside the artists to create what critic Liz Goldner described as 'a colorful and bizarre world that speaks to the viewers' hearts, political proclivities and spiritual sensibilities.'

Also at the museum: Kim Manfredi: View with a Grain of Sand, running October 3, 2026 through January 18, 2027. Manfredi's paintings translate natural phenomena into abstraction, using color layered with drips, bleeds and oversprays to evoke the vitality and unpredictability of nature. The exhibition's title is drawn from Wislawa Szymborska's poem 'View with a Grain of Sand,' which reflects on human insignificance within a vast, objective universe.

Manfredi doubles down in November with A Flag Walk for Our Future, a participatory project presented in collaboration with the museum, installed November 5 through 9 along a 0.7-mile accessible path in Heisler Park. Clusters of hand-painted and hand-gilded flags mark the walk, arranged in groupings that evoke Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night, drawing viewers into a slower look at the coastal landscape.

The month's gallery night is First Thursdays Art Walk on Thursday, November 5, held the first Thursday of every month from 6 to 9 p.m. The free, family-friendly event celebrates the town's diverse cultural art scene with participation by more than 30 member galleries. Laguna Art Museum offers free admission from 5 to 9 p.m. on art walk nights, with docents available for tours from 6 to 8 p.m.

Continuing through the season is Radiant Terrains: Elements of Light in Contemporary Art from the Permanent Collection, on view September 19, 2026 through January 10, 2027, which explores how artists from the 1960s to the present have transformed light into sculpture, painting, photography, installation and metaphor.

If you're planning one big art outing for the month, aim for the first week: the Flag Walk goes up November 5, the same night as the art walk, which means Heisler Park at dusk and the museum and gallery doors open after dark in a single evening.
